Welcome to another episode of Authors Supporting Authors. Today, we have a VERY special guest, an artist named Jacquelyn Piro! Yes- a little change up. Art was my first love and I’m happy to feature another talented person here.

Q: I’m curious how you came up with the name Coffee and Chocolate? I just so happen to love both!
A:  The reason for that is really quite simple - because I want my art to be about happiness and healing and to me, coffee and chocolate are the perfect cures!

Q: What does Coffee and Chocolate offer?
A: I create art, mostly with watercolor. I've always loved art, but I also love to share it with friends and family so I began my company to turn my passion into a living.

**That is amazing. I’m a big believer in pursuring your passion, even though we all can agree this is a LOT easier said than done. So, congrats on taking that huge step!**

Q: What made you want to share your passion for art?

A: I am part of a group of patients suffering from a rare disease called Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. Recently another member of this group (who happens to also be a close friend) created a nonprofit organization to offer financial and psychosocial support for patients. Because of this, I began to sell my art (using #LoveBugProject) in order to donate 50% of each purchase to the nonprofit. I believe that art can help us heal in many ways.

**Art with a cause. Even better!**

Q: When did you start drawing/painting?

A: I have been drawing since I was a toddler (due to the fact that my mother also likes to draw). I began just sketching at a young age, and during adolescence I began to experiment with different media such as acrylics and alcohol-based markers. After a few years, I discovered that watercolor was my favorite. This is mostly due to the unique appearance and multiple techniques associated with the medium.

**I find it amazing how each person finds his/her own medium for their own reasons. Like a calling lol. Mine is ye ol’ boring pencil**

Q: What’s your ultimate goal?

A: I hope to achieve, first and foremost, a strong support system for SMA Syndrome through my art. I also want to provide love and show people that artistic expression can really bring about both healing and happiness.

**Mind-blowing. I highly recommend checking her shop out and support such a great cause. Great timing too if you need a unique Christmas/Holiday gift!**
