"The Aeonians" has fun with #Inktober

As a form of procrastination of editing "The Shadow Warrior", *Ahem*.... I mean, I figured it would be fun to incorporate art in the weeks leading up to my debut novel launch!
-------------------------
**NOTE: If for some reason you are that person who would rather NOT have any visual of characters BEFORE reading a novel, STOP NOW**
-------------------------
"The Aeonians" hosts a world full of unique creatures, and I wanted to celebrate my brain-children by sketching them. As some of you know, drawing was my first love. By no means am I a pro, but it's good to work the rust out. Finally, it so happens to be #inktober, so let the fun begin!

I will update this specific blog as I add more sketches!

Picture
The Kai:

Standing only approximately 3-4 feet high, these creatures resemble rabbits. However, they have light blue fur and webbed paws. Their long ears have gills and posses a fin like tail. They have whiskers and long eyebrows They can live to be upwards of 300 years old. They are able to inhabit both fresh and salt water, the only species known to be able to do so.
The Kai are a peaceful, inquisitive species. They are also known for great wisdom, which is “blessed” to them when they reach 150 years of age by their “deity of the river”. While they keep to themselves in their water metropolis of Pekas Bay in Deran, they tend to venture around the world.  While not vain, the Kai have a deep passion for art and therefore love to decorate their homes with lavish items.

Picture
The Foti:

  • While their bodies resemble wolves, they can stand and walk on their two hind legs as well as on all fours. Descendant of such wild animal, this species prides itself as a more “intelligent” form and therefore very prideful.
  • Their long mane forms at the crown of its skull and braided downward. Its length and the presence of precious gems (such as rubies in the sketch) are said to determine that Foti's status in society. Their fur is copper/brown. They wear minimal amount of clothing. They average about 6 feet in height. They live to approximately 50 years. Humans used to abduct young pups and treat them as pets. This caused a ‘war’ of sorts over 300 years ago in Noreland.
  • The live in the northernmost city of Deran, Ogonia.
  • Their symbol: A wolf’s skull, with fire erupting from the top.
